Mathematica for physics

چکیده
General Audience This book is intended for the advanced undergraduate and graduate physics student taking core courses in the physics curriculum. We expect this text to be a supplement to the standard course text. The student would use this book to get ideas on how to use Mathematica to solve the problems assigned by the instructor. Since we cover the canonical problems from the core courses, the student can practice with our solutions, and then modify these solutions to solve the particular problems assigned. The student can focus on the physics, and leave the algebraic complications to Mathematica. This should help the student move up the physics learning curve quickly.

S@M, a mathematica implementation of the spinor-helicity formalism
In this paper we present the package S@M (Spinors@Mathematica) which implements the spinor-helicity formalism in Mathematica. The package allows the use of complex-spinor algebra along with the multipurpose features of Mathematica. The package defines the spinor objects with their basic properties along with functions to manipulate them. It also offers the possibility of evaluating the spinoria...
متن کاملHEPMath 1.4: A mathematica package for semi-automatic computations in high energy physics
This article introduces the Mathematica package HEPMath which provides a number of utilities and algorithms for High Energy Physics computations in Mathematica. Its functionality is similar to packages like FormCalc or FeynCalc, but it takes a more complete and extensible approach to implementing common High Energy Physics notations in the Mathematica language, in particular those related to te...
متن کاملThe Fedosov *-product in Mathematica
The computer program ‘Fecom.nb’ implementing the Fedosov ∗-product in Darboux coordinates is presented. It has been written in Mathematica 6.0 but it can be easily modified to be run in some earlier version of Mathematica. To optimize computations elements of the Weyl algebra are treated as polynomials. Several procedures which order the terms are included.
متن کاملA Mathematica interface for FormCalc-generated code
This note describes a Mathematica interface for Fortran code generated by Form-Calc. The interfacing code is set up automatically so that only minuscule changes in the driver files are required. The interface makes a function to compute the cross-section or decay rate available in Mathematica. This function depends on the model parameters chosen for interfacing in the Fortran code.
متن کاملHPL, a Mathematica implementation of the harmonic polylogarithms
In this paper, we present an implementation of the harmonic polylog-arithm of Remiddi and Vermaseren [1] for Mathematica. It contains an implementation of the product algebra, the derivative properties, series expansion and numerical evaluation. The analytic continuation has been treated carefully, allowing the user to keep the control over the definition of the sign of the imaginary parts. Man...
